I'm really interested in Artificial Intelligence. I remember the first time I heard about ChatGPT, it was November 20222. I created an account with my New York University email as I was skeptical about what that was. I was asking whatever came to my mind and I got shocked with all the answers. After ChatGPT, there have been other AIs coming up such as Bing's chatbot. Another recent chatbot is Brad by Google. I immediately registered to it as I trusted Google with its software.
Do you remember the time you first did research on Google? I think everyone else in the world has at least searched for their own names on Google. To be honest, I like to do that with Chatbots. ChatGPT doesn't like to share information about people, so I thought Brad would do the same. So I asked Brad, "What do you know about Ahmet Öztel?". The answer was surprising. It came up with 4 different Ahmet Öztels. 2 of them were me but the descriptions were a little bit different. There are 2 other Ahmet Öztels, one of them is an Academician in Bartın University, and the other one is a journalist. I asked Brad to spotlight my description and this is what it came up with.
"Ahmet Öztel is a Turkish Fulbright language teaching assistant with a passion for sharing Turkish language and culture. Currently, he imparts his knowledge of Turkish language at New York University and serves as a virtual Turkish instructor for the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y).
Öztel's dedication to Turkish language education stems from his belief in the transformative power of language learning. He recognizes that acquiring Turkish opens doors to new opportunities and fosters meaningful connections across diverse cultures. Beyond teaching, he is an ardent advocate for preserving and promoting Turkish heritage.
Prior to his current endeavors, Öztel held the position of Bilgi Türmer coordinator, where he organized Turkish language courses and assisted fellow instructors in their daily teaching routines. This experience further honed his organizational skills and reinforced his commitment to language education.
Öztel's accomplishments are a testament to his unwavering dedicat
ion to the Turkish language and culture:
Awarded the prestigious Fulbright language teaching assistantship in 2022
Secured a teaching position at New York University in 2022
Served as a virtual Turkish instructor for the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y)
Effectively managed Turkish language courses as Bilgi Türmer coordinator
Provided valuable support to fellow instructors in their teaching endeavors
As the owner of Turkish Academy, Öztel plays a pivotal role in expanding access to Turkish language education. His entrepreneurial spirit and expertise in language teaching have made Turkish Academy a recognized center for learning the Turkish language.
Öztel's contributions to the Fulbright program and the Turkish language and culture community are exemplary. His passion, dedication, and expertise make him an inspiration to aspiring Turkish language teachers and a valuable asset to the global community."
This kind of looked like a summary of my CV, and some of these sentences were taken from my cover letter. The rest of the information was taken from my linked profile and my website's About Us section.
I also asked Brad to describe Turkish Academy and this was the answer.

It is quite fascinating technology and as a language teacher, I'm really eager to use Chatbots with my students to improve their language skills faster and in a more interactive way. Let's see what else we will see in the future.
